June 9, 2015:
Members of the Georgia International and Maritime Trade Center Authority (GIMTCA) unanimously supported the Chairman’s recommendation to sign a hotel development consulting contract with Moeckel & Company to assist the Authority in effecting timely new hotel development on Hutchinson Island; the planning, construction and opening of which would potentially coincide with that of the proposed $50 million expansion of the adjacent Trade Center.

October 2014:
Moeckel & Co. is pleased to have represented NUCCO, Inc. in the sale of its 252-room Inn at Ellis Square in the Historic District of Savannah to the Noble Investment Group.  The transaction involved the sale of the hotel, termination of  existing management and franchise agreements, new IHG management and Hotel Indigo license agreements and a planned major renovation and repositioning of the property into an urban flagship for the Hotel Indigo brand.

September 2014:
Moeckel & Co. is pleased to have represented Waterfront Restaurant LLC in structuring and consummating a Bargain Sale of 300 Concord Street to the City of Charleston for its $75 million development of the International African American Museum.  The parcel which is located between the Aquarium and the Maritime Center fronting Charleston Harbor was the original site of Gadsden’s Wharf, where tens of thousands of slaves first entered the United States.

April 2014:
Moeckel & Co., working in conjunction with Baltimore-based Lantern Advisors, is pleased to have represented a Virginia-based hotel  partnership in restructuring the debt, management and franchise agreements and securing a fresh equity infusion for its then distressed asset.

December, 2013:
Moeckel & Co. is pleased to announce the representation of Kessler Charleston Meeting, LLC in their purchase of 247 & 249 Meeting Street and 59 Hasell Street in downtown Charleston for the development of the Bohemian Hotel Charleston. The transaction closed on November 19, 2013. John Poston of Poston & Co. also served as a buyer’s agent in the transaction, which entailed obtaining entitlements from the City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals and Board of Architectural Review for a 50-room hotel.

December, 2012:
Moeckel & Co. represented Savannah Investors in the sale of the Mulberry Inn (Holiday Inn Historic District) in downtown Savannah to KHP III, an investment affiliate of Kimpton Hotels. The sale involved the assumption of a CMBS loan requiring approvals by both the master and special servicers, the early termination of the IHG license and a $15 million renovation and repositioning of the property into a high-end boutique hotel.  The transaction closed on December 31, 2012.

Moeckel & Co. Represents Summerville Inns of Grandeur LLC in the Acquisition of the Woodlands Inn in Charleston, South Carolina.
September 1, 2010:
We are pleased to have represented Summerville Inns of Grandeur, LLC in the acquisition of the Woodlands Inn in Charleston, South Carolina. The historic Woodlands Inn is one of only six hotels in America to earn the Five Star and Five Diamond awards for both lodging and dining.

Moeckel & Co. Represents Prince Bush Smith Hotels, LLC in Sale

May 27, 2010:
Moeckel & Co. is pleased to announce its exclusive representation of Prince Bush Smith Hotels, LLC in the sale of their leasehold interest in the Holiday Inn Historic District at 125 Calhoun Street and fee interest in the adjacent office building at 310 Meeting Street in downtown Charleston, South Carolina.  The transaction entailed obtaining entitlements for a 50-room expansion from the City’s Board of Zoning Appeals and Board of Architectural Review.   The buyer is an affiliate of the Noble Investment Group in Atlanta, Georgia.

New Conservation and Limited Development Project Initiatives
January 1, 2008:
Bill Moeckel has been appointed chairman of the Advisory Board of Christiana Capital Group LLC, a Wilmington, Delaware based company in which he is an investor.  The company specializies in Conservation and Limited Development Projects with Private Land Owners, Land Trusts and Government Conservation Agencies.

Richmond and Philadelphia Properties Sold to Crestline Hotels & Resorts
May 17, 2007:
Bill Moeckel is pleased to announce that Crescent Hotels & Resorts has acquired the 224-suite Embassy Suites Richmond in Virginia and the 253-suite Doubletree Guest Suites in suburban Philadelphia from the Thayer Lodging Group for an undisclosed price.  These are the first two hotels acquired by Moeckel on behalf of Thayer and the Lodging Opportunities Fund in 1995.

Thayer Lodging Group Sells Eight-Hotel Portfolio
July 1, 2005:
Thayer Hotel Investors II, a private equity fund launched by Moeckel, Fred Malek, Lee Pillsbury & Gary Wilson in 1995, sold eight hotels to the Pyramid Hotel Opportunity Venture Fund of Boston.
